Planks for consideration from the Fayette County Democrats:
- The Iowa Code will be updated to provide accurate timely registration and counting of ballots mailed or otherwise used for absentee/early voting.
- The State of Iowa shall join The National Popular Vote Compact.
- The swift influx of hog confinements since this decision has reached hazardous levels, Iowa producing as many hogs as Minnesota and North Dakota, the 2nd and 3rd largest producers in the US, combined. The expansion has been so widespread and plague-like, that the DNR altogether missed about 50% of all cattle lots and hog confinements in 2017, 1,300 of those possibly large enough to require regulation and only discovered via satellite imagery from an EPA order. We have a real problem in Iowa, and a lot of wasted energy is being let go that could be harnessed; by this, I mean the biofuels expelled by livestock waste.
- Hemp will help the independent farmer squeeze out from beneath the thumb of Big Ag and the seed monopoly.
